Scout = Elf

This is Scout aka. Scouter aka. Licky Browndog Floppytongue III. I need to laugh, so I posted this pic. Hope it does the same for you.

Merging

Does anyone on Long Island know how to merge? When I was driving this morning traffic was backed up and I figured there must be an accident. There was (of course) and it was in the left lane. So... why does everyone gun it in the left lane right up until the last possible moment before they should get over and then cut me off or block traffic so that the can get over? If you got over to begin with then it would be OK. I do not understand the trouble? I wish I could have one of those wall street tickers in my car that would repeat messages as I drove. It could say nice job dicko or way to not pay attention asshole! You know, really positive stuff. Or have a James Bond type license plate that rotated messages as well. That way you can curse people out without saying a word. I am going to invent that.

What in the World?

What the hell is this Bromance show? Seriously, what is this place coming to? I have a lot of guy friends and I have once said in my life lets hang out... Bromance style? That is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard. Who are these clowns who go on the show? People wonder why our country is going to shit. Look no further than Bromance.

VH-1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs

Whoever voted on this list is on some serious drugs. I do not want to rant like I usually do, but this list is utter crap. There is no way in hell that Evanescence, Velvet Revolver, Marilyn Manson or Andrew W.K. have any songs better than Jethro Tull's 'Aqualung'. That song is better than anything any of those clowns have ever put out. How is that even possible? Why is Europe even on this list? The fucking 'Final Countdown' really? 'Born to be Wild' was #53 and Poison's 'Talk Dirty to Me' was #40? Green Day was #33. What the fuck! It is apparent by this list that no one seems to understand what Hard Rock is. Plus, they put 'Hey Joe' as the only song by Hendrix. No 'Fire' or 'Purple Haze'. I was surprised that no one put the Jonas Brothers on this list? The way things are going lately, you never know? Learn some history and figure out what Hard Rock is or use a different name for this "definitive list".

By the way... Creed still sucks.

Review: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex in NYC

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has an Annex in NYC now. It opened up in December and it is located at 76 Mercer Street. We went there this past Saturday afternoon. OK, first things first... is it worth the ticket price? NO. I even had a special coupon that made the tickets $19.99 each (plus tax) instead of the usual $24.50. It is a small place and I did not like some of the memorabilia they displayed. Do we really need to see Elton John's sun glasses from a few years ago? Michael Jackson's gloves & jacket from Bad? Are those rock & roll artifacts? There were several good things about the museum, but for the size of the place the price does not add up.

The Annex does have a section that focuses on New York and the different genres that have blossomed here. There is a model of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs with computers attached to so different musical landmarks throughout. When you select a location on the computer a corresponding light blinks to show you where in the city it took place. This was a very cool feature. They have multiple items from CBGB including the awning. Not the original awning because that was stolen in the 80's, but the one that was on when it closed it's doors. The Clash exhibit was very good. It featured a lot of various show posters and hand written lyrics. The Clash are one of my favorite bands and I felt like it was a good representation of their diversity and importance.

Overall, it was a good visit, but $24.50 for a small museum is not worth it. We went through the museum throughly in under 2 hours. I wish the Annex only focused on the tremendous influence and unparalleled importance this city has made on music history.

In other news Kim & I went to Lombardi's Pizza on Spring Street after museum and that was so worth the wait and money!

Best Show Ever?

Did anyone catch Rock of Love Bus last night? I did... holy shit! What is wrong people? First off Bret Michaels refers to himself as a rock star living the rock star life more than anyone ever! That is a good drinking game. Whenever someone says rock, drink. That is all he does. I rock, I live the rock star life, when I am not rocking, I rock. Be quiet already. We get it. You rock (not really). I understand without you telling me every 7 seconds. Also, lets be honest... how does this man still have genitalia that works? Seriously? I am convinced he has no hair. Those bandana's and hats have wigs attached to them. Plus, the women on this show are insane. Fake boobs and bleached blonde hair is a prerequisite I guess? I felt dirty just looking at some of these girls. The best part was that one train wreck put a test tube shot in the "private" area of another chick on the first day and they both got kicked off and neither understood why? Priceless. This show is so mindless and a calamity it is hysterical. It makes me feel better about myself. Thanks VH-1.

I don't understand all these rehab shows that are out now? The people on the show act surprised when they are criticized or yelled at. What did you think was going to happen? What the hell is that Confessions of a Teen Idol show all about? Why is he entire cast of Bay Watch on it? Do these guys really need help or do they want the money and the "attention" that comes with being on this show? Hmm, I wonder...

Finally... I got to give the Knicks some love. Awesome game last night. I got hope. They showed some life in the 4th quarter and kept up the momentum. David Lee and Wilson Chandler played great.
